Labouchere Casino Gambling strategy is also called as the Cancellation system or Split Martingale. This Gambling strategy was invented by Henry Labouchere. Like all the other casino gambling strategies, it attempts to give the player the best chance of winning. Ideally suited to the roulette game, it is mostly used to make the even money bets on the game.

How does the Labouchere Casino Gambling Strategy works

The basic working of the Labouchere Casino Gambling strategy is that you recover your wins through winning less number of bets compared to number of times you lose. Before starting, you must have set a betting win limit before using this strategy in Roulette. This is the important factor for deciding when you want to quit using this strategy.

Once this is done, you have to decide on a sequence of numbers, on how you wish to achieve this winning limit. This sequence can be in any way, as long as you achieve the winning target.

The working principle of the Labouchere Casino Gambling strategy is that you place a bet on the even money bets of the roulette. It can be odd/even, Red/Black or 1 – 18/19-36 bets.

Next step is to place a wager equal to the sum of the first and last number of your sequence and begin play. In case of win, scratch out the first and last bet on your list. You continue moving inwards on the list, by adding the outer numbers, and cancelling them in case of a win.

Consider the simple example of setting the win limit to $15. We have used the number sequence: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

• Place bet 6 (1+5) and win. Cancel out 1 and 5 from the list.
• Place bet 6 (4+2) and win, Cancel out 2 and 4 from the list.
• You are now left with 3, which is what you should place in the next bet.

Now consider the same scenario except you are losing every bet.

The number sequence is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

• Place bet 6 (1+5) and lose. Add 6 to the end of the list. It now looks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
• Place bet 7 (6+1) and lose. Add 7 to the end of the list. It now looks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

In order to see the casino gambling strategy work out, you must continue making the bets until all the numbers are cancelled in the list. At some point, you would have reached your goal set earlier. Continue with the sequence until you have a win and cancelled out the numbers.

Does the Labouchere Gambling strategy work?

As the gambling strategy unrolls, you can see that as long as the losing streak doesn’t run for long, you might actually make a profit. The longer you play you might encounter the losing streak. As you are increasing your bet with every losing round, you might be required to make a wager which can be beyond the set limit.

Also, you cannot guarantee when the losing streak will end. So, you must have a big bankroll in the first place or you have reached the table limit.

In any case the Labouchere Gambling strategy is not for all. If you start off with a series of losses, then it is best to stop using this strategy even before moving further.

The Labouchere tactic is for those high rollers who won’t mind the losses which occur. Or else for those who just want to have fun. As always, there are those who promote this casino gambling strategy as a sure fire thing for winning big. It is not true and depends entirely on the player’s gambling habits and attitude towards losing.
