European Roulette is the most widely preferred variation of Roulette amongst the casino players. The reason for this preference is the lower house edge associated with this version of the game. It has 37 pockets, 36 out of them alternate between black and red and the last one is the green pocket with the number zero. Its American counterpart has two green pockets thereby making it a table game with a higher house edge. Moreover, the European Roulette follows an en prison rule. According to this rule, if the ball falls in the zero pocket, the players of the even bet have the option to either lose half of their bet or to leave the bet as it is for the next round.
The European version uses regular casino chips instead of the special Roulette chips. These make the bet monitoring a little difficult and you have to pay attention as to where the wagers are placed. Apart from that, European Roulette has the same gameplay as any standard Roulette game.
